On the feedback of students, on 6th October 2011, DevNext volunteers at NED organized a free session for students of Computer and Information System (CIS) to help them in their project work and to especially answer their “How to” queries in connecting their applications with different database systems such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle.
Following was the agenda of the session:
- The Client-Server Syndrome
- Most widely used Databases
- Setting up Development Environment
- [DEMO] Connecting web apps with Databases
- HTML5/JavaScripts/PHP/ASP.NET
- Sql Server Express, MySQL, Oracle Express
We would like to thank our speaker “Waqas Yousuf” for his valuable investment of time and also appreciate our volunteers for organizing such great session. We have received a very positive feedback about the session and students have shown their interest in more such sessions.
Sample code demonstrated is available on speaker’s blog.
About DevNext User Group:
DevNext is a user group which has been created with the intention of providing a platform for the Next Generation Designers & Developers sharing and discussing knowledge regarding different tools and technologies. Our mission from inception has been to develop a peer group of developers, designers, architects, and managers who are interested in learning, sharing and growing their knowledge and capabilities. The group’s vision is to provide members with a forum to hear from industry experts who are interested in the same technologies as you and are facing the same challenges.
Interested in organizing technology sessions in your University? Please contact us at contact@devnextug.org and we will be happy to assist you.
